Leschaco’s South African subsidiary has announced that it has received its Level 2 accreditation as an Authorized Economic Operator.

A statement issued by the global logistics services provider said: “This certification strengthens the company’s strategic role within the Leschaco Group, improving its ability to deliver global benefits to its customers.”

Leschaco South Africa’s AEO accreditation follows closely on the heels of Leschaco Indonesia’s AEO accreditation.

A statement issued by the German company’s headquarters in Bremen said: “Leschaco South Africa’s new status underlines its reputation as a reliable partner in customs clearance for international trade.

“Level 2 accreditation is the highest level of AEO in South Africa and focuses on strict supply chain security through comprehensive risk assessment and mitigation.”

Leschaco highlighted that the certification demonstrates the local subsidiary’s commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in international logistics.

“Achieving AEO status involves a rigorous audit by customs authorities, requiring adherence to strict standards regarding record-keeping, financial solvency and security measures.

“AEO certification is increasingly critical in South Africa’s logistics sector as it improves the security and efficiency of global trade.”

There is broad consensus that an achieved AEO status supports a company’s respect in supply chain circles.

“Partnering with AEO-certified carriers like Leschaco South Africa offers significant benefits for companies involved in international supply chains,” said the Bremen-based company.

“The AEO program fosters a transparent and predictable business environment, key to the growth and sustainability of the logistics industry.”

Leschaco South Africa Customs Manager Denver Booysen said it was a tough process to go through to get Level 2 accreditation.

“The intensive vetting program included a detailed overview of the company with an assessment of CSK capabilities, operational processes, process flow mapping and an in-depth security review of the entire business model.

“Leschaco South Africa is now a qualified AEO trader, giving us elite status with other Leschaco affiliates.”

The statement said: “Achieving the AEO certification highlights Leschaco Group’s commitment to providing reliable and high-quality logistics services.

“This certification facilitates close cooperation with customs authorities, leading to better planning, better customer service and reduced delays and costs. Leschaco Group is dedicated to continuously improve the quality of its service to its global customers.
